How it works...

1. Individual phone numbers are set up for each channel being tracked i.e. one number for Google Adwords, one number for Yahoo Search etc.

2. JavaScript is used to display the regular phone number across all pages of a site for regular visitors. However, for those who come from other channels the JavaScript displays one of the individual phone numbers.

3. Calls from all numbers are logged separately and then reported on.
