Rich Media/Online Advertising

The term rich media describes a broad range of digital interactive media. Rich media can be downloadable or may be embedded in a webpage. If downloadable, it can be viewed or used offline with media players such as Real Networks’ RealPlayer, Microsoft Media Player, or Apple’s QuickTime, among others.

The defining characteristic of rich media is that it exhibits dynamic motion. Two examples of dynamic motion are a streaming video or a ‘ticker’ that continually updates itself.

An example of dynamic motion in response to user interaction is a pre-recorded webcast coupled with a synchronised slide show that allows user control. Another is an animated, interactive presentation file embedded in a web page.

All of these techniques can be successfully employed as part of an online advertising or marketing campaign. Affinity i-Marketing is experienced in deploying these techniques on behalf of clients.

Online Advertising

Online advertising is a form of advertising that uses the Internet and World Wide Web in order to deliver marketing messages and attract customers. Examples of online advertising include contextual ads on search engine results pages, banner ads, interactive media, advertising networks and e-mail marketing.

A major result of online advertising is information and content that is not limited by geography or time. The emerging area of interactive advertising presents fresh challenges for advertisers who have hitherto adopted an interruptive strategy. Online video directories for brands are a good example of interactive advertising.

Affinity i-Marketing can bring your online advertisements to life through use of standard banner adverts, skyscrapers, MPU’s right through to rich media advertising including audio, video, flash, viral, forms, games and photos.
